Vita

I am Giacomo Bevilacqua, originally from Venice and I began my ballet studies at the tender age of 5 with the English RAD (Royal Academy of Dance) methodology.

Due to successful progress I have been accepted at the Accademia di Ballo del Teatro alla Scala in Milan in 2004, following Russian methodology, where in 2007 I received the Degree of Professional Classical and Modern Dancer.

Requested by several European theatres right after graduating, I joined the ensemble of Staatsballett Berlin where I participated as soloist and corps de ballet member in all the classical productions and various modern shows of the company, expanding my knowledge with various choreographic styles and different teaching methodologies.

Among the many productions, you will find names such as Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, The Sleeping Beauty, Onegin, Romeo and Juliet, Le Spectre de la Rose, Sheherazade (pas de deux), Theme and Variations, Blanche Neige and Petit Mort.

I worked with various renowned and prestigious choreographers or their repetiteurs, such as Vladimir Malakhov, Nacho Duato, Patrice Bart, Angelin Preljocaj, Heinz Spoerli, Mauro Bigonzetti, Boris Eifmann, George Balanchine, John Cranko, Gheorghe Iancu, Peter Schaufuss, Angelin Preljocaj and Jiri Kylian.

Invited as a guest at European Dance Galas, I also danced with Nicoletta Manni, prima ballerina of the Teatro alla Scala, and with Julia Makhalina, star of the Kirov Theater in St. Petersburg, sharing the stage with other ballet stars such as Ludmila Konovalova, Polina Semionova, Dimitri Semionov, Dinu Tamazlacaru, Ivan Vasiliev and many others.

In 2018, I continued to expand my knowledge by studying the Benesh Movement Notation, an advanced methodology of analysis and writing of body movements. This tool is used to analyse, notate, preserve and re-stage dance choreographies of any style. Many famous theatres, such as Stuttgarter Ballet, Royal Ballet in London, Staatsballett Berlin, Ballet Prejocaj in France and many more, employ this complex notation technique.

After 13 years, I said farewell to the stage in 2020.

In March 2022, I completed my studies, obtaining the Postgraduate Diploma in Benesh Movement Notation and achieving the title of Choreologist.

For some years now, I have started coaching other dancers and teaching students of any level, from beginners to professionals, sharing my technical level comprehension and professional experience.
